Design services and contracts
Consultations, layout packages, and styling work begin only after we confirm scope, fees, and timing by email or signed proposal. Travel within Amsterdam is normally included in consultation fees listed on our pricing page; work outside the city may carry an agreed surcharge.
Furniture and materials purchased from third-party suppliers remain subject to those suppliers' terms. Small Joy Atelier is not a building contractor; structural changes, electrical work, and permits remain the responsibility of the homeowner and licensed trades.
Payments and cancellations
Invoices are issued in EUR and payable according to the dates stated on each invoice. A deposit may be required before detailed drawings begin. If you cancel a scheduled home visit with less than twenty-four hours' notice, we may charge a partial consultation fee to cover travel and reserved time.
If we must postpone because of illness or access problems at the property, we will offer a new date without penalty. Disputes about fees should be raised promptly at [email protected] so we can review the file together.
Liability
We take care with measurements and recommendations, yet final installation quality depends on installers and product manufacturers. Our liability for design advice is limited to the fees paid for the relevant package, except where Dutch law prohibits such limitation. Nothing on smalljoysmama.mom creates rights for third parties.
Photographs on portfolio pages may be illustrative of past work; colours and proportions can differ on screen. Always confirm finishes with physical samples before ordering paint or textiles.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Courts in Amsterdam have jurisdiction over disputes arising from services booked through smalljoysmama.mom, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections. Last reviewed: July 2026.
